As expected, there was a ton of BUZZ around Apple’s recent launch of the iPhone 11, and iOS 13. But this year unfortunately, much of the noise out of the gate is negative, relating to numerous software issues. Fortunately Apple has already released 3 initial patches, with a fourth (iOS 13.2) projected to be released at the end of October.

Personally, I’m planning to hold off until Apple gets it right. So in full disclosure, I don’t yet have firsthand experience with iOS 13 or the iPhone 11. But I’ve been following post-launch feedback and wanted to share some details from a number of tech writers that do.

Please keep in mind that operating systems, patches, and subsequent software updates are continually evolving. And for this reason, some or all of the content here including links to other posts will be outdated very quickly (if not already).

Here’s a nice overview of iOS 13’s new features, along with the fixes included in the recent updates:

Given Apple’s history and reputation, I’m confident that iOS 13 will be improved and “fixed”, and eventually become as stable as previous iOS versions we’ve come to know and love. Until then, I’m sticking with iOS 12.4.1…
