The 2010 annual IDeACOM conference recently concluded in Savannah, Georgia at the beautiful Westin Savannah Harbor Golf & Resort (August 8th – 11th). Despite the down economy, the conference was a huge success. This year marked the highest number of members in attendance, and was supported by an all-time high roster of IDeACOM vendor-partners.
In addition to new technology platforms and service offerings from our prominent vendor-partner line up, The IDeACOM Network rolled out quite a few new marketing initiatives to its growing membership; including Street Sense, which is a professionally-developed sales management training program that will be delivered through scheduled webinars and follow up one on one sessions. Street Sense has been developed for technology providers, specifically in the telecommunications and data communications field.
Also introduced was a new service called Web Sense; a customized and professionally-produced website for The IDeACOM Network. Members can take advantage of Web Sense for a fraction of what it would cost individually on the initial setup, as well as reduced charges on the monthly recurring hosting fees. Site content on the products and services will be kept up to date through a collaborative effort by the web developers and the technical staff employed by the manufacturers. This alone represents a tremendous value and time saver to the members.
Although IDeACOM Insights was introduced during last year’s conference, Insights was enhanced during the year and therefore reviewed at this year’s conference. IDeACOM Insights is a monthly eNewsletter that is produced by a team of technical writers based on pre-defined topics that were selected by The IDeACOM Network. IDeACOM Insights is a very easy and inexpensive means for IDeACOM members to provide clients and prospective clients with a professionally-produced eNewsletter, consistently every month with relevant and compelling topics written for both non-technical, and technical people.
The 3 days were packed with valuable learning opportunities, time to network with new & existing members and vendor-partners, and we even found some time to get out and enjoy the historic town of Savannah. Topics spanned marketing strategies, the impact of social media, and bridging the generation gap in the workplace. The overall theme of the meeting resonated an inspiring and motivating message about how tough times pass, and tough people last.
The “Mining Our Diamonds” event is an all time favorite. Mining Our Diamonds is an IDeACOM “roundtable” session with all of the members. Each member has an opportunity to speak about a topic or an idea that they’ve implemented which enabled their organization to improve service, reduce cost, increase sales, save time, and increase productivity & efficiency… This is a highly anticipated and well attended event because everyone always walks away with quite a few “Diamonds” that they can immediately implement in their own businesses. All presentations and sessions are available on the IDeACOM website for members to download or review at any time.
